Getting organised - PJ Station

So i may like to be organised
its no secret.
Sometimes im not and they are the times i feel completely out of control.
I join lots of orgainsing sites
one of them being
Jade has the most fabulous ideas and tips.

One of her awesome ideas was an Errand Station
another was a Summer Station

My Pigeon Pair took inspirtaion from Jades Summer Station and created a Winter station

And i have now taken inspirtaion from both lovely ladies
and created a PJ station for my boys.

The Pj Station is a basket of after bath essentials
which are all together and can be put popped into the basket whenever you get a spare sec during the day.

Our PJ station has..

A gorgeous blue and white polka dot basket from "The Warehouse"

Inside the basket we have...

1 x nappy for Master J
set of Pjs
Singlet and pair of socks
1 x nappy for Lil C
romper or pjs
singlet and pair of socks
1 tub of normal Vicks for their feet
1 tub of Vicks Baby Balsam for their chest & back

Once the boys are in the bath, with dad supervising
I just pull this basket out and turn the heater on.

I use to get all this ready whilst they were in the bath or even earlier and that worked just fine
except i had no where to put it except on the top of the couch.
Having it all in a basket means i can keep it all together on a shelf in our bookcase
and whip it out in a few seconds.
Which is defaintly what we need when struggling with 2 slippery, tired little boys
right in the middle of feral o'clock.

Do you have any little tricks or methods that make a huge difference in the running of your day?

My Bag of Tricks...

So heres my second installment of
My Bag of Tricks
hints and tips to help make the busy mumma's life a little bit easier!

*This helpful tip was suggested by miss Em over at Mums the word
If you have a huge pile of washing that needs to be folded, and you just can't be bothered. Separate the bigger things form the smaller, and put into two piles. Then fold the bigger things first (sheets and towels etc) and the small last!
Trust me; it will seem alot easier this way!
And do so infront of the telly!

* If your drains are dirty or theres a funky smell coming from them
pour some bi-carb soda down there and then the some vinegar
it will fizzle and froth and hopefully take the smell away!

*How to tell a good egg from a bad egg!
Fill a glass with some water and drop your egg into it
if it floats its FUNKY!
if its sinks crack away

If youve got any hints, tips or tricks to do with anything that would help another

giving credit to you obviously.

Hope you get some usefullness out of these tips and tricks

My Bag of Tricks...

Being a mummy of Two well three if you include the hairy man child
I am alwasy on the look out for fabulous cost cutting tips, hints and tricks in cooking, just anything that will help make life as a busy mummy that little bit easier or get me out of a pickle.

Which is why it thought it would be fabulous to blog all the hints, tips, tricks helpful gadgets that i come across
Hopefully this will help you too one day..

*Homemade schnitzel, you know the drill flour, egg, breadcrumbs, cook
But what happens if you have no have plain flour? or eggs?
Uh ohhhh
dont panic you can use corn flour instead of flour and milk instead of egg too easy.

*When the weather is a little bit unpredictable
I find hanging my washing on clothes aires and tops, dresses, skirts, pants etc on clothes hangers which you then hook on the washing line makes gathering all your clothes that much quicker if it starts to rain suddenly.

*When freezing meals or bulk meat, portion up whichever you are doing into ziplock or freezer bags.
To save room flatten them out as much as you can, if you put say 2 chicken breast in a bag put them side by side instead of ontop of each othe,r if its mince pat it down til its flat.
This will help them stack ontop of each other better and also help with the time it takes to defrost your meat

If you have any handy hints or tips you want too share to make another mummys busy day that little bit easier just comment and i will add it and credit you in my next "Bag of Tricks" post.
